The Problem
The team at Surpass would spend hours of manpower on manual verification of Medicaid eligibility for hundreds of patients across multiple states and agencies. The tedium of logging in and out of various state Medicaid portals, tracking down the necessary information, and keying the updates into their EHR was time-consuming and pulled the team away from more engaging, higher-value patient-facing work. The company needed a solution to save time on a repetitive, tedious activity.
The Approach
Surpass engaged with Innobot to dive into the requirements of verifying Medicaid eligibility for a large volume of patients, including the numerous intricacies across states, diagnoses, providers, and more. Innobot researched the technical requirements of working within government websites and Surpass’s EHR.
After building out the requirements, the Innobot team was able to develop, test and deploy the end-to-end solution within a matter of weeks. Due to the reliance on custom filters and labels within Surpass’s EHR, the module is able to dynamically stay on top of ever-changing eligibility requirements and meet Surpass’s evolving business needs.
The Result
Innobot designed a custom module to verify Medicaid eligibility for hundreds of clients across six states, approximately 95% faster than the human team was able. Applications of hundreds of clients across multiple states can be processed simultaneously, on a daily basis, significantly reducing the time it took to process a claim and enabling continuous patient coverage. As Surpass’s patient population grows, the module is able to keep up with fluctuations in demand.
